 Thanks for visiting.

 Presently the Vice President of a Healthcare Informatics vertical of a Multinational, I am a Family Physician, and practiced medicine  actively from 1980 to 2000. I've studied Aerospace Medicine, Alternate Medicine , Acupressure and Magnet therapy. A certified HL7 Expert, I've been into Informatics since 1986. I've programmed in  Delphi, Visual Basic, ASP, HTML, JS, Java, Flash and XML and am into EMRs, EHRs, PHRs, EHealth, Telemedicine, HIPAA, HL7, ICD, CPT. I've planned, executed and maintained projects in Telemedicine. during my stint as VP- Telemedicine, ATNF that is part of the Apollo Group, one of the top Hospital groups of India.

I now architect and lead end-to-end Enterprise Healthcare Informatics solutions.

What is telemedicine? Well, simply put, its the latest cutting edge medical technology that will get the physician to your bedside ...virtually. 

This is how it happens. The  doctor examines his patient in the comfort of his clinic and records all necessary information like EKGs, X-Rays, Ultrasounds, Path slides, etc. These are then, sent to a specialist at some distant hospital 1000s of miles away by VSAT (satellite link). The specialist examines the data, (sometimes perhaps talks with and observes the patient through teleconferencing) and ...bingo has the answer to his problem! This , I would say, is the next most exciting discovery in medicine, after perhaps, the stethoscope!

In the not-too-distant future we (or perhaps someone) will actually create a virtual doctor! Like the one in The Star Trek Series  "The Voyager".
